Casablanca is the largest economic city. It’s national port holds more than 80% of the Moroccan trade.
Casablanca remains a bridge of commercial exchanges between Africa and the rest of the world.
In Morocco, there is a growing market for plastics industry.
According to VDMA-the German Engineering Association, Moroccan imports of plastics technology amounted to 52.8 million US Dollar in 2013 after 65.3 million US Dollar in 2012. Imports of packaging machinery stood firm at 96.0 million US $ in 2013 after 93.2 million in 2012.
GTAI-Germany Trade & Invest points out that Moroccan imports of plastics in primary forms amounted to 985 million US$ in 2012 after 974 million in 2011.
The Moroccan plastics industry counts for 14,000 employees, produces a turnover of around 818 million Euro and covers around 60% of the demand. 38% of turnover is generated with packaging material, 14% with agriculture, 14% with the building industry and 10% with technical equipment.
