Rexroth drive & control:Preventing downtime

2016/03/07
With its new service package called ODiN (Online Diagnostics Network), Rexroth is able to monitor the operating status of users’ hydraulic systems, both continuously and reliably. It can identify changes of condition in critical components at an early stage and lets necessary maintenance and repair work be performed before a component fails and causes the system to break down. This is made possible by recording and evaluating the vast amounts of data that have become available through the networking involved in Industry 4.0. As each new unit is connected, ODiN improves its wear-and-tear forecasts thanks to self-learning algorithms. Where a maintenance contract has been concluded, Rexroth makes recommendations on the work needed and carries it out. This lowers maintenance costs because only worn parts are replaced. This service is of special interest to operators of systems where the downtime costs are high.
