The fair is identified as the center of the Korean machinery industry in the East-South Region.
The Busan International Machinery Fair, which has grown both quantitatively and qualitatively each year, commemorates its 8th anniversary this year.
Despite the global economic downturn, 500 companies and 1,800 booths from 30 countries will participate.
These figures represent twice the number of companies and 2.5 times increase in the number of booths as compared to 2003.
The 2017 fair is expected to be the largest to date.
And, for the first time in the domestic machinery exhibition, the event has has steadily maintained UFI (Union des Foires Internationales) certification and developed into a global exhibition alongside leading machinery exhibitions worldwide.
 
The exhibition aims to increase exhibitor and visitor satisfaction by providing a greater synergistic environment and enhanced experience.
The event will feature operational specialized shops representing the machine-related manufacturing industry, and subdivide the present six branches.
In addition, academic conferences hosted by the Korean Society of Mechanical Engineers will be held concurrently during the exhibition period.
A variety of seminars will be offered, including a smart plant solution briefing and seminar, export purchase consultation meeting, technical science academy, new product/new technology presentation, and an international mechanical technology symposium.
