Rexroth drive & control:Ready for networking

2016/03/02
The Italian machine manufacturer C.B.Ferrari has gone for networked concepts in its new 5-axis machining center, used to produce turbine blades. The A156 is run and programmed exclusively by smart devices. The operating concept is based on multi-touch screen applications and a built-in 3D simulation function. Using Rexroth’s Open Core Engineering Platform lets the company develop specific apps for the control system. To achieve this, Rexroth opened access to the core of the IndraMotion MTX. In this way, machine manufacturers can themselves create individual functions in high-level languages. In addition, the integrated OPC UA Web server and other Web-based technologies provide further options for networking machine tools, both horizontally and vertically. Industry 4.0 concepts can thus be gradually introduced into routine operations.
